To whom it may concern,
Let's start by not tellin' my name. To stay alive you should work on a
need-to-know basis.
And you don't need to know! When you're reading this you will be caught
in the mystery
concerning Jack's disappearance. Well... let's not beat around the bush;
he's probably dead.
Probably I am as well by the time you read this... That should explain me
being careful!
Anyway, I just thought it might be a good idea to write down the things
I've discovered, so
someone else could take over the investigation when I might follow
Slayton sooner then me
and the Lord himself might have had in mind.
Jack's Office
It's probably best when you start where I started; in Jack Slayton's
office. During your search
through Jack's desk, Marjorie, his secretary, will probably call you.
Turn around and switch on
the intercom with the left button. Also listen to the radio, which is
left of the intercom, and
hear about Wo-Tan, the missing dog of former movie star Agnes
Simon.
Sit behind his desk and search the drawers. In the upper left drawer
you'll find a key marked
with the name of Joan, Jack's girl at the time, and a key with a label,
number "135". In the
lower left drawer you'll find a journal which keeps track of your actions
and you inventory.
Check it now and then. In the drawers on your right hand you'll find a
small key which will
unlock the rolodex on the desk. There's also a flashlight in the second
drawer. Now check the
large drawer in the middle of the desk. You'll find a magnifier there and
a wallet with some
useful coins for payphones. Also don't forget to look in the dark
matchbox on the left, it's one
from Sheherazade's and has some writing on the inside: "knock twice,
knock once".
Now check Jack's desktop. You can start by reading the newspaper but the
news isn't that
what the word says it is, anymore. As said before, there's a rolodex with
telephone-numbers.
As you have the small key you can open it. Use the wheel on the left to
turn the cards. It
contains five cards with numbers. One of 'em is from an informant. Call
your informant here.
To call someone, select his or her card by clicking on it till the phone
appears. It'll call
automatically the number you wanted when you click on the phone.
On the desk is also some papers to your right. Check out one of them.
It's a leaflet from the
Americans For Freedom In Europe, some anti Nazi group.
Sitting behind the desk, I reached for the slide out drawer, which is a
small rim just above the
upper right drawer, and pulled it twice. It showed me a note with the
combination of Jack's
safe. After that I looked behind the painting with the vase and the five
apples. I knew he hid his
safe there! With the combination the safe opened and revealed a lot of
stuff. There was a
package of dollars in there that wasn't some amount you would expect Jack
to own. You'd
better take it with you, like I did. Also take the gun with ammo, the
security badge for Jack
which had been given to him by Williams (I think it may be useful to get
into Williams' offices).
Leave the other stuff in the safe for now.
case 1
I took out Charles Winthrop's file and studied it carefully. From the
office I used the map on
the wall to get to...
The Race Track
There I entered and found my way to the stables. Then I took a look at
Pegasus stable, which
is hallway the hallway, but didn't find anything important. I turned
around and met Eddie
Ranchero, the jockey. He was devastated by Pegasus death, as was Charles
Winthrop, he
declared. He gave me permission to look around and a key. I got back to
Pegasus stable and
unlocked the door. I turned on the light switch near the door. Inside I
found a hypodermic
syringe in the straw beneath the saddle. I took a good look at the
feeding schedule and the
newspaper article on the wall. I also found a business card from Mannie's
Used Book Shop on
the board.
The Winthrop Mansion
>From the stables I went to Winthrop's mansion. I imagined Charlie had
some kind of security
build in his mansion. I entered the garden through the gate and looked up
to the illuminated
tower of his house. When the lights were out I sneaked through the window
near the door and
found my way to the study. I draw a map for you, so you won't have a lot
of trouble finding it.
By the way, bring your flashlight or you'll see nothing!
When I found the desk I found several things. First of all I switched on
the lamp on the desk.
Then I took a big cigar from the shiny box on the right of the desk. I
can't afford these big boys
from my expenses so this could be some kind of Robin Hood kinda thing!
Anyway, I read the
note on his desk which turned out to be a prescription for Calcium
Diazaline, a medication for
Pegasus. It was strongly suggested not to give any overdose! Growing
suspiciously with the
minute, I checked both drawers and found a letter from Winthrop's
insurance adjusters telling
him not to worry about the money when Pegasus died of natural causes.
Besides that I found a
copy of some contract concerning the Manorwood real estate project. After
that I looked at
the letter that was lying on the left of his desk in which Winthrop was
thanked for his
dedication and donation for the Refugee Rescue Fund, located at 2430
Gower Street, Los
Angeles, California.
>From there I went to the kitchen door to hear a conversation between the
maid and the butler
in which they told eachother mister Winthrop was very very upset by the
loss of his dear horse
and that he surely wasn't the same man he used to be...
Manorwood Real Estate Project
As I found the lead of the real estate project, I went to Manorwoods. It
walked towards the
shack but got sent away by the guard. Back at the office my informant
called to tell me the
guard likes the booze. So I got to Jack's closet, turned on the light and
choose a bottle of fine
firewater. Then I went back to Manorwoods.
I entered the shack without any difficulties this time. I searched for
the desk of mister Pollock,
with whom Winthrop made his deal, and sat down for some serious reading.
Note A: there are three endings to the Winthrop Case. Instead
of hiding in the
closet, you can also choose the following options, marked as B and
C.
Ending B: If after you receive the warning about Pollock coming you
attempt to
leave the shack without the gun Pollock will see you and the guard will
shoot you. Back at Slayton's office you will see a newspaper headline
saying Detective found in Gutter.
Ending C. If after you receive the warning about Pollock you attempt to
leave the shack with the gun
Pollock will see you but you will win the shoot-out with the guard. Back
at Slayton's office
you will see a newspaper heading saying the same as in option
A.
case 2
Jack's Office
In the office I listened to the audio tape Jack recorded with Kwan. Also
read his file which I
found in the briefcase below the map.
Chinatown
I took off to Chinatown and realized what a maze it is there! To make it
easy on you, let me
tell you that you should take a 45° turn left and then go forward.
>From there go left, take
a 45° turn to your right, then turn 45° left twice, take three
steps forward and go
through the gate. Then go forward twice and see the sign Kwan mentioned.
I went through the
door and then forward, turned right and took three steps forward, went
right, 45° left
once more, forward again and I reached the second door. Got through this
door and entered
the storage room.
Then I walked forward, 45° to my right, forward twice, through
another door on my
right, passed a third door and finally entered the secret laboratory! I
looked at the dish with the
opium on the table and met Charlie Kwan. When he had finished his story,
I looked at the
calendar and remembered the warehouse address, being Eastern Pacific
Warehouse, 1301
Beach Avenue, San Pedro, Ca. I left the building and got back to Jack's
office.
Warehouse
I checked the briefcase once more and got the map that's in there. I
picked the warehouses as
my destination. As I arrived there, I walked towards the truck and opened
the door to get into
the cabin and push the hand break. The truck rolled backwards and allowed
me to climb in the
back, look up and sneak through the hangar window. I walked forward and
climbed down to
see the missing crate Charlie had been talking about. But it was empty! I
reached beside this
crate and found a small case with a Geiger counter in it. I used the
Geiger counter to examine
the big crate and, wow!, some noise over there in the straw! As I
examined the crate's top, saw
the labels and found out it had been containing 26 Ming vases. Sure...
Shipyards of Los Angeles
On the crate's label I found the name of a ship: Huangshan. I got the map
from the briefcase
again and selected the shipyards as my new destination. From there I got
to the ship and took
the left stairs. I entered the ship and went below till I found the cargo
room. I walked this way:
twice up to reach the ship, turned right, went forward, right again,
forward again, then a left
turn, through the door and one step forward once more, turned right, went
down the stairs,
turned 45° left, another 45° turn to my right, a step forward, a
turn right and
another step forward. I waited till my flashlight was on and took three
steps forward. Then
another turn to my right, a step forward and two turns left. I found the
crate under a lot of
tarpaulin and nettings and it made a hell of a noise when I held the
Geiger counter above it!
Label said it contained humanitarian aid. Yeah, well, and I'm Humphry
Bogart! Sure thing this
crate contained uranium. And since when did the organization of Americans
for Freedom in
Europe have their offices at Peenemunde, the German Wehrmacht V-1 rocket
base?
case 3
Jack's Office
As I saw the business card from Mannie's Used Book Shop in the stables at
the Race Tracks, I
remembered seeing the same card in Max' file. I took out the file of Max
Englehart. In it there
were three things; Jack's story of the case, the note from Max that Jack
mentions and, I knew
it!, a card of the bookstore Jack wanted to go to. From the safe I took
Max' book.
Max' House
First I visited Max to find out more about him and his book. I got to the
map on the wall and
clicked on the note with Max' name on it and got at his house in no time!
I knocked on his
door but there seemed to be nobody home. When I looked up, in front of
his house door, I saw
a fire escape which I pulled down. I followed it all the way up and
entered through the
window. There I found Max, stiff as a nail...
Note: When you're in the room of Max' apartment, you can hang
up the
telephone receiver. Your informant will call you then to warn you for the
bad guys. Not
necessary to complete the game successfully.
Union Station
Back at Jack's office I examined the wall map and decided to follow the
train lead. I got to
Union Station and found the lockers just right of the 'to all trains'
sign. The key with the
number 135 fitted on the locker most left on the upper row. In the locker
I found a note from
Joan to Jack in which she told him she couldn't wait any longer and
bought him a ticket on the
Moonliner for tonight. I think Jack had put something else in the locker
but as I didn't know
what that might be. I made a 180° turn and I walked to the trains. At
the sign of track 5
and 6 I turned left. There I found a conductor who told me he had seen
Joan talking to Max.
Most important; he saw how she gave him a small book which must have been
the book I
found in Jack's safe! When I arrived at Jack's office I saw Max' dead had
already been printed.
Joan's Apartment
Next visit was Joan's apartment. In the hall I went forward twice and
then turned 45°
left. I opened a shiny but closed door. Behind it was an elevator which I
started with the key
with the "Joan"-label I found in Jack's drawers and fitted in the lock
below the elevator
buttons. The elevator took me to the 13th floor. After opening the
elevator gate I took two
steps forward, turned 45° to my right, stepped forward again and
turned 45° to my
left. Then again one step forward, a right turn, forward once more and
walked towards the
telephone. I examined the phone and noticed a drawer to my right (it has
a white button!). As I
was nosing through Miss Goldielocks' stuff, I stumbled upon her diary in
this drawer. In this
diary she wrote down her reasons for leaving LA and her knowledge of
Myer, the owner of the
Sheherazade, blackmailing the clients at that Club. Jack was supposed to
follow her but... well,
let's say he missed his train... After reading her secret stories, I left
the bedside and got forward
twice, turned 45° to my right, forward again, left turn, forward,
left turn again, forward,
right turn and forward again. Besides her secret diary I found some half
burned letters in the
bath. There were love letters from Philip Watkins (him again?) and well
sculptured Joan. There
also was a letter in which Phil demands Joan to give her back 'the' book,
which most likely is
that small book everybody was running their buds off for.
Note: From Joan's bathroom you can turn left and go through the
left black
door. You'll now enter a secret hallway full of Hollywoodland pictures.
There's also some kind
of a safe house. No known use for this place, just fun to look
at.
Watkins House
Anyway, with the help of Jack's wall map I found Watkins house and
confronted him with the
naked truth. As I was still wondering how good old Phil ever got
voluptuous Joanie to fall for
him, Phil confessed his adventures with her. He thought she might give
him back the code
book if he made some fun with her (darn, I for one wouldn't need one
excuse at all to keep her
company!) but he never expected her to leave. After crying some more he
left into the house.
case 4
However all this didn't explain Max' dead, I got interested in this
Watkins dude. He couldn't
keep very much of a secret for some government hot shot of shadowplay!
Jack's Office
I returned to Jack's office and read the file he had on Watkins. I also
listened to the tape in the
safe and then got a cab to the Bradbury Building where Watkins' office
was.
Bradbury Building
There I took the stairs to the 5th floor and took the security pass Jack
left in his safe near the
door with the five switches on it.
On the left of the door was a light switch. After turning the lights on,
I could examine the room
a lot better. First of all I examined the leather door and found a vault
behind it. As I didn't have
the combination, I turned around. In front of the desk I looked all the
way up and saw a hole in
the skylight! I left the office and turned right, step forward once and
turned right again and
then made a 45° turn to my right. I climbed the stairs and got on the
roof by walking
straight ahead.
There I stumbled towards the illuminated skylight and looked down. There
I saw some tiny
footprints like from a dog. I realized my theory about no man climbing
down this window just
got shattered as Wo-Tan The Wonderdog could make it easily!
Note: To proceed you'll have to get a confession from Watkins
and the picture
of Niles from Agnes Simon.
case 5
I rushed back to the office to read the Agnes Simon file and listen to
Jack's tape recording of
her. After all, radio told me Wo-Tan was her little doggie and this
barking movie star became
more interesting by the minute!
Agnes Simon's House
I left for Simon's house and after a firm knock on the door, the bold
butler let me in, wanted to
throw me out at the same speed before Agnes cried happily as I was to be
most likely be a
admiring fan visiting the great star. Well, although it's below my
standards of being a detective,
I played along with the charade and ignored the butler's request not to
look around and
followed Agnes' advice; please do look around. After some time I found a
picture of this
famous dog and Agnes grabbed this moment to tell me all about it.
Interesting fact was her
story of Niles, her butler who got killed in some swimming accident. She
showed me a picture
of this valet Niles which I snatched away as being some major piece of
evidence. Just as Agnes
told me she didn't trust her butler, Kurt von Munheim, he threw me out on
the pavement.
Note: You can't proceed until Myer kicks you out of the Secret
Room in
Sheherazades of if you saw Wo-Tan steal the code book from Watkins'
office.
Jack's Office
After that I went back to Jack's office. My informant called me to get my
ass to the Bradbury
Building a.s.a.p. So there I went again...
Bradbury Building
I got to Brandbury Building again, because this wonderdog started to
interest me, and entered
Watkins room again. I waited for the phone to ring. My informant told me
someone was
coming to the Bradbury Building so I turned of the light and hid in the
closet. Looking into the
room I saw Wo-Tan climb down the skylight onto the table and the chair
and grabbing some
red book. The German masters called him and successfully sneaked away
with the third code
book. I left the closet and turned the light back on. Again, my informant
called to tell me I had
to find the way to the well locked passage to Watkins laboratory. For
that, I needed a three
figure vault combination...
Jack's Office
I went back to Jack's office. I took Max' book from the vault and
examined it. There was a
strange drawing on the inside of the cover... It showed a Roman figure I
and some curl
pointing towards the letter L.
Then I decided to go to Mannie's Used Book Shop. Everything seemed to be
happen just
because of this book so I wanted to know a little bit more about it. It's
easy to get at the book
shop. When you're outside the office building, you should turn right,
take five steps forward
and turn right again.
Mannie's Used Book Shop
Inside the shop I met Mannie who was very excited about me coming there
(okay, he was
more excited 'bout Max' book). He also had 2 books like Max' and he
showed them to me. I
examined the covers very carefully and noticed two drawings like the one
I saw in Max's book.
Now the curls pointed toward other letters: the curl in the book with the
Roman figure II
pointed towards the M and the curl in the book with the Roman figure III
pointed towards the
letter R. There's also pictures of these in Jack's journal.
When Manny saw me examine the books he got a little shaky. He offered me
a lot of money
for the book because together they were really special, he mumbled. As I
didn't got attached to
the book and Max was dead, I accepted the amount of money. But not
before I had a good
look at both books!
After selling the book he let me walk around his shop. I found a door
with a message
"employees only" on it but as I happen to suffer some severe eye problems
now and then, I did
not notice it and went in. Behind that door I found some kind of storage
room. There was a
switch and I just had to pull it! Nothing happened but when I looked
around I saw some
bookshelves that could be moved. I pushed it and the wall opened to
reveal a secret room.
The Secret Nazi Map Room
It's hard to describe what I saw when you haven't been there yourself,
but it looked like some
Nazi map room, with swastika's and Adolf's ugly face looking down from
the wall... On the
table in this room were blueprints for the Bradbury Building and they've
got Watkins
Cryptography marked like it's their target! They also had been tracking
troop movements in the
war in Europe with a short-wave radio which was on the table there. You
should not touch this
radio 'cause it'll alarm the Nazi's! Besides that there was a press to
make leaflets like the one I
found in Jack's office, the one supposedly made by the Americans For
Freedom In Europe.
Although it was some other fake organization, the one I found at
Winthrop's, the Refugee
Rescue Fund, look very much the same! This anti Nazi movement and the
book shop are just a
front to get money for those fascists!
I also found Agnes Simon's dog Wo-Tan over there. Funny place for that
dog but as it would
have been strange taking that dog out through the door, I left it there.
Would alarm the Nazi's
also!
Jack's Office
Back at the office, my informant called again. I had to go to Bradbury
Building immediately!
As I arrived in Watkins office, I went to the vault door and clicked on
the three combination
buttons. After that I turned the wheel and entered the secret lab behind
the vault. I turned left
and examined the stuff on my left hand. there was a paperclip and I
picked it up. Then I looked
around, examining all strange equipment.
case 6
I decided to take a look into the mysteries concerning the disappearance
of Alicia Smythe,
daughter of Harrison Smythe.
Jack's Office
I took the film reel and the audio tape from jack's wall safe. First I
listened to the tape which
gave me an impression of the youth Alicia had. Then I went to the closet
and opened the door.
I switched on the light bulb and examined the dark corner at the right.
There was a movie
projector so I put the film reel on the empty spot, turned on the two
switched of the projector
and left the closet. Then I removed the painting and through the hole the
movie mystery
unfolded itself.
Sheherazades' Bar
As Alicia had last been seen hanging around Sheherazades, I went over
there. The Bar can be
reached when turning to your right when you're facing the front door of
Sheherazades. Use the
secret code; knock twice, knock once. Inside I walked to the bar and gave
Ernie the picture of
Alicia. He had never seen her but told me that someone with the innocent
looks of Alicia
wouldn't make it very long in there. To quote him; Sheherazades would
chew 'm up and spit 'm
out.
Joan's Apartment
The poster in the bar triggered my imagination. I got back to Joan's
apartment the same way I
did before. There, in the bedroom closet, I found the same brooch
Harrison Smythe had given
his daughter Alicia on her birthday! It was on the third shelf from the
top.
Jack's Office
I got back to Jack's office and saw that the mystery of the missing
heiress had made the
newspapers; Joan and Alicia were the same person!
Well, knowing Joan and Alicia were the same person and knowing that Joan
was the
Sheherazade Club torch singer and Alicia had been seen there too, I
decided to start a
thorough investigation on Myer. I took the IOU's from the briefcase under
the wall map to get
in Sheherazades by pretending to pay Jack's depths and gain Goodsby's
sympathy, for all that's
worth.
Sheherazades
I entered the hotel, paid the IOU's and got Myer's approval to look
around. I went upstairs and
met one of Myer's goons after looking around in the room with the stuffed
lion. So they had
been following me!
Jack's Office
Back in the office I turned on the radio and heard about the scandal and
that Joan had stolen
some money from Myer. Well, that explained both Joan's disappearance as
solved the Case of
the Missing Heiress!
The only thing left to do was to get Agnes Simon's dog back. The best
lead I had was the story
about Niles. So, there I went again, to...
Sheherazades Bar
I showed the picture of Niles to Ernie. He told me he'd been her butler
all right but it was clear
to him Niles was her lover. Besides his personal opinion about late
Niles, he also told me that
his death was a bit suspicious. Niles' body was never found after he
drowned on Santa Monica
Beach. Ernie thought somebody was trying to get to the old lady by
getting rid of Niles. Could
this mean Kurt von Munheim had forced himself on the butler spot by
murdering Niles? Never
liked the guy anyway.
Jack's Office
I went back to Jack's office and got a call from Agnes. She told me she'd
been given a ransom
note. She wants you to come.
Agnes Simon's House
I took a cab to Agnes' house and Von Munheim, the butler, reluctantly let
me in. I walked to
the livingroom and looked at the picture of Wo-Tan. There I looked down
and Agnes started
talking to me. She put the ransom note on the table and I snatched it
away. The bad guys
wanted her to come to the observatory that night. As she wanted to pick
money for the
ransom, Von Munheim got pissed off and kicked me 'raus'!
Jack's Office
Back in the office, my informant called me. He warned me not to go to the
Griffith
Observatory. He told me the dog responded best to His Masters Voice so I
went to the vault
to take the audio tape by Agnes Simon and also took the tape recorder.
The Griffith Observatory
I went towards the building and took the stairs to the left of the
entrance. On the roof I walked
towards the small telescope, took two steps forward, made a 90° turn
to my right,
another two steps forward and saw the crate with Wo-Tan in it.
Note: If you examine the crate, the Nazi's will grab you and
you'll be
hypnotized.
I left and made a 180° turn. Then I took two steps forward, a 45°
turn right and
forward again. There I found the tape recorder. I pulled the switch but
nothing happened! I left
it alone and suddenly one of Myer's goons appeared. He warned me for the
Nazi as they were a
nasty bunch o' thugs! He told me his boss sent him and that mister
Slayton wanted me to have
something special. Slayton? I thought he disappeared? Well, anyway, I got
an electric wire and
got back to the tape recorder again. I played the tape and Wo-Tan escaped
from the crate.
Finally Agnes Simon was re-united with her dog in an old fashioned
Hollywood way!
Jack's Office
Back in the office I read the Los Angeles Dispatch and read about me
solving the last case! I
switched on the radio and heard about the $ 500.000 reward Smythe wanted
to give away for
the one who found his daughter.
Things Come Together
Then someone switched off the radio. It was Jack! He told me he laid low
for a while to get
Myer and the Nazi's of his back. Joan was there too and they both left to
catch the Moonliner
to San Diego. He also asked me if I was interested in solving some future
cases... Well, why
not? After all, Jack told me himself, I'm pretty good at this!
THE DEATH OF PEGASUS
a.k.a. the Charles Winthrop Case
First of all there was a letter from Ackerman Geologic Survey explaining
Pollock that rude oil
had been found on the Manorwood ground. As this was a bigger deal than
building houses,
Pollock probably got greedy. After that I also found a letter from the
bank telling Pollock there
were no loans to be given, leaving the man in serious financial problems.
No need to say that
the letter Winthrop wrote to Pollock, in which he told him he would
resign from the deal,
would leave Pollock as the single owner, as stated in the contract
between them. All and all to
make Pollock suspect number one. As evidence for this theory I found a
medicine bottle in the
drawer! Pollock sure was the Pegasus killer! Then the phone rang and my
caring informant
told me Pollock was on his way. I hid in the closet and watched Pollock
and the guard leave
the building. Later, I read in the papers Pollock had gone to England.
Case closed.
THE CHINESE CONNECTION
a.k.a. the Charlie Kwan Case
I left the hangar the same way as I entered it and walked towards the
phone boot. Inside I
examined the taxi advertisement and rang this company. I left the phone
boot and walk
towards the end of the truck. There I found my cab that took me back to
the office.
I looked around and found a closed door (after making these moves:
forward, turn left,
forward, turn right, open door, forward, turn right, forward) which led
to a room with 2
valves. I turned them all twice and then turned right to see the third
valve which I turned once.
Suddenly the valves started pumping water into the ship. I ran away and
found out through the
Los Angeles Dispatch newspaper that the Huangshan had sunk! So far for
Germans launching
rockets on the UK! Case closed.
THE CASE OF MAX'S RARE BOOK
a.k.a. the Max Englehart Case
I searched his apartment but all there was to be found was his wallet,
which identified him as
the person he was and also meant it wasn't just another burglary for the
money. There also was
a note in Max' hand. It was a note about this notorious book. The note
was written by Phillip
Watkins, but was he desperate enough to kill Max? I also found a train
ticket to travel from
Los Angeles to San Diego in the waste bin in the bathroom. I climbed
through the window and
down to the street. There I took a red car, which is a trolley bus, and
got back to Jack's office.
A BREACH OF SECURITY
a.k.a. the Philip Watkins Case
On my way to the Bradbury I studied this pass and found out that Watkins
uses a different
code for each day of the week. The numbers 1 to 7 indicate the days of
the week (1 is sunday)
and the white and black boxes besides them indicate the 5 switches. A
black box indicates a
switch to be pulled down.
Standing in front of the door, I pulled switches 1, 3 and 5 because after
all it was a fine
saturday evening. A short buzz and I entered the room.
THE MYSTERY OF WO-TAN THE WONDERDOG
a.k.a. the Agnes Simon Case
Probably most important was the telegram I found on the table. It was in
German but,
translated, it said: "Message concerning the search for the American
decoding device. Priority:
urgent. Colonel P. Hansen". Last but not least there was a drawing of a
V-1 rocket. They
wouldn't be building those for some time as I sunk the ship with the
necessary uranium!
Then suddenly the phone rang. I picked it up and my informant told me the
Nazi's were on
their way!
I turned towards the vault door and clicked on the cogs. Then I put the
paperclip between the
cogs. Just in time! I heard the Nazi's fighting because they weren't able
to open the vault door.
Hey, I just stopped that Herrenvolk by only a small paperclip!
Anyway, I solved both Max' case as Watkins' case.
THE CASE OF THE MISSING HEIRESS
a.k.a. the Harrison Smythe Case
I also read the case file and picked up the picture of Alicia that was
inside it.
He left and I walked towards the poster of Joan. Somehow there was some
kind of
resemblance with Alicia... Hmm...
I searched for the bedroom (behind the closed doors) and found a mirror
closet. I opened it.
Then I got back to the room with the stuffed lion. I looked around till I
found a tapestry with
Egyptian design and pulled it away. I opened the door and went in. There
I found a secret
mirror room with a camera and sound recorder. I examined the recording
amplifier and
switched it on. I heard a conversation between Joanie and the major
Higgins, planning on
doing something naughty... There were also some film reels. I left the
room and crossed Myer's
path with the uninevitable end that I got thrown out!
