INTRODUCTION
Welcome to my Homeworld guide. This guide will help you to complete all of Homeworld's single player missions. Homeworld is a game that changes the way that Real Time Strategy games are played, you will learn new skills, strategies and most of all be able to over come the odds and come out successful. This guide is here to help you through any rough spots and to make sure that you finish the game. Also this guide assumes that you have finished the Training Mission.
The game has two races available to you to play the single-player campaign. No matter which race you pick the single-player missions stay the same, what does differ is your fleet and the main enemy you go up against. So if you play the Kushan the main enemy is the Taiidan and vice versa. This guide follows the Kushan side of the campaign but it is easily applicable to the Taiidan campaign.

The first mission, this is also a sort of training mission where you will go over what you have learnt in the Training Mission.
* I advise that if you are a new comer to the game that you should take the Training Mission so that you can learn how to successfully play the game.
This mission is extremely easy and all you need to do is follow the instructions given to you by Fleet Command.
CONSTRUCT A RESEARCH SHIP
Self explanatory. When told to go to the Build menu, select a Research Ship and then hit the Build button. This will start construction of the Research Ship.
Try and use Hotkeys, they will make things much easier when in battle or you are trying organize fleets and the like.
HARVEST ASTEROIDS
Self explanatory. When told to select your Resource Collector, right click to bring up the ships menu and select Harvest from it. The ship will now go and harvest nearby Asteroids.
DESTROY TARGET DRONES USING FORMATIONS
As you complete the first two objectives your first interesting objective is given to you, not hard just interesting. You must first experiment with the Formations. Go through all of them and get a good look at them. Notice their strategic value for use in different situations e.g. The Sphere Formation is good for guarding a unit, Claw Formation is great for taking out multiple enemy units one at a time.
Assign your Scouts to group 1 and move them towards the target drones. Use the Sensors screen to help you move them. Once they are there start attacking the drones, it is up to you on how to attack them. One at a time or all together using the multiple targeting feature. Once they have all been destroyed the next objective will be given to you.
RESEARCH FIGHTER CHASSIS
Self explanatory. When this objective is given to you switch to the Research screen. Select the Fighter Chassis from the list and then hit the Research button. Your Research Ship will start research on the Fighter Chassis.
DESTROY TARGET DRONES USING TACTICS
This is similar to the last drone objective but instead of using formations you must use Tactics. Use a hotkey or right click and go through the menu to get to the Tactics menu. Select either Aggressive or Evasive Tactics and then have your Scouts attack the next lot of Drones. Select one or two scouts and zoom in on them, change their Tactics while they fight and get a feel of what each Tactic can do.
Aggressive Tactics are good for when you consider your ships are expendable and can be replaced easily. Evasive Tactics are used most when money is tight and you can't afford to waste ships.
CAPTURE A DRONE USING A SALVAGE CORVETTE
When you are given this objective bring up the Build menu and star construction of a Salvage Corvette. Once your Salvage Corvette is ready move it towards the single drone. Once there select the Corvette and then click on the drone. The Salvage Corvette will now attack itself to the drone and bring it back to the Mothership. Once you have captured the drone the objective is complete, as is the mission and you will be given clearance to perform a Hyperjump.

Before you start with your first objective set your Resource Collectors harvesting. Once they are off and harvesting go to the Research screen and start researching the Corvette Drive. When that is done start researching Corvette Chassis then Heavy Corvette. You will need these later on in the mission.
When you start pulling in the money churn out at least 10 Interceptors and an extra 5 could be useful. After this build a Probe and stockpile your money for now. When your scout is ready and the Interceptors are ready begin the first objective.
SEND PROBE TO THE KHAR-SELIM
When you have done everything above select your Probe and send it to the area where the Khar-Selim has been detected, you will need to use the Sensor screen. You will see that the Khar-Selim has been destroyed by enemies unknown. These enemies, after seeing your Probe, get curious and come to have a look at your fleet. They don't like you and they try and kill you. This is why those extra Interceptors have been built.
Group your Scouts and Interceptors together, put them in a good formation (Claw is best) and then set them to Aggressive Tactics. Now have them take on the enemy ships going for your Mother ship.
SALVAGE THE KHAR-SELIM
After you have destroyed the first wave of Fighters you are told to salvage the Khar-Selim's Flight Recorder so that you can learn what happened. Send your Salvage Corvette to the Khar-Selim, also have one group of your Fighters to guard it. When it gets there have it Salvage the Khar-Selim.
While you are sending out your Salvage Corvette start building as many Heavy and Light Corvettes as you can. You are going to need them.
DEFEND SALVAGE TEAM
As it starts to salvage the craft more fighters will appear and try and destroy the Salvage Corvette. Have your guard group break off and take them out. Make sure that the Salvage Corvette makes it back to the Mothership intact.
PROTECT MOTHERSHIP
Any ships that get past your Salvage Corvette will go for the Mothership. Send any available units to destroy them before they can do any real damage. There won't be many so it is a fairly easy task. Remember that your craft will need refueling and repairing.
DEFEND MOTHERSHIP
When this objective is given to you it has come to a point where you will need to use everything you have to defend the Mothership. The enemy is a little annoyed at you and are sending their Carrier over to wipe you out. You will need to have a collection of Heavy Corvettes. You did remember to build them didn't you? When the Carrier comes into view, split up all of your Scouts, Interceptors and Corvettes. Make sure there are two even groups.
Send one group to attack the enemy Carrier and the other group to destroy any fighters that the Carrier has with it. Make sure that both groups are on Aggressive Tactics. Once your first group starts attacking the Carrier the enemy Fighters will usually go and defend it. Have your other group break off from attacking the Fighters and have them help destroy the Carrier.
The Carrier will only take so much of your consistent attack and it will Hyperjump out of the area if you continue to pound it. When the Carrier is gone you are able to continue to the next mission. Instead of leaving straight away though finish building whatever you have queued up and then build another Salvage Corvette and a Repair Corvette. This will prepare you for Mission 3.

You return home to find that everything has been destroyed! The Orbital Platform, Satellites... and your PLANET!!! Everything is in ruins, nothing is left, wait except for the Cryo Trays in orbit around the planet. They are under attack, this leads you to your first objective.
DEFEND CRYO TRAYS
Send all of your Fighters to the Cryo Trays. You must keep one enemy vessel alive so that it can be captured. Have all of your Fighters target one enemy ship at a time. When there is only one left break off your attack.
If you have any Repair Corvettes send them to the Cryo Trays and have them repair any that have been damaged. This will ensure that you rescue all of them. At least one Cryo Tray MUST survive.
CAPTURE ENEMY SHIP USING TWO SALVAGE CORVETTES
You now have to capture one of the enemy ships. Wait until your Fighters have destroyed 3 of them and then send in your Salvage Corvettes. You may want to build an extra Salvage Corvette because once the enemy ship sees the Salvage Corvette it will immediately go after them.
Stop your Fighters from attacking the last enemy vessel. When your Salvage Corvettes are near send your Fighters in to attack it. Put their Tactics on Evasive so that they don't do too much damage. You only want to draw the ships attention away from the Salvage Corvettes. Once they have it you can stop your Fighters. The Salvage Corvettes will take the enemy ship to the Mothership for further analysis.
SALVAGE CRYO TRAYS
After you have captured the enemy vessel you are given the task of Salvaging the Cryo Trays. Have all of your Salvage Corvettes salvage the Trays. It will only take a few minutes to load all of them aboard.
When they have all been salvaged don't leave just yet. Harvest whatever you can, repair and refuel your fleet, build whatever you can and research the Capital Ship Chassis. Organize your fleet before leaving.

This mission can be taken with slow advance. There is no need to rush and finish objectives as soon as possible. You have time on your side in this mission so don't abuse it.
BEGIN COLLECTION OF RESOURCES
Your first objective, self explanatory. Start harvesting resources immediately. Start construction of a Resource Controller while you are harvesting the available resources.
BUILD AND DEPLOY A RESOURCE CONTROLLER
This is another objective given out early in this mission. You should have already started construction of a Resource Controller. When it is ready send it out near your Resource Collectors. The closer it is to them the faster you get the RUs.
Have your fleet move near the Resource Controller because you will have now attracted the attention of the enemy. If you have any Repair Corvettes bring them to your fleet as well and have them guard everyone. Set your Fighters and Corvettes to Aggressive.
PROTECT THE MOTHERSHIP
While you are fighting off the enemy fleet trying to destroy your Resource Collectors then enemy will surround your Mothership with Ion Cannon Arrays. Call back your Repair Corvettes and have them repair the Mothership. If your fleet has destroyed the enemy fleet at your Resource Collectors bring them back to start attacking the Ion Cannon Arrays. If they haven't don't worry there is another way of defeating them.
Bring your Salvage Corvettes in and start capturing the Ion Cannon Arrays. You will need a few so build any more that you need. When you have enough Salvage Corvettes start building Assault Frigates and your own Ion Cannon Frigates. Keep trying to capture as many Ion Cannon Arrays as possible and destroy the rest. When your fleet at the Resource Collectors have finished moping up the enemy there bring them home to help destroy the enemy Ion Cannon Fleet.
When capturing the enemy Ion Cannon Arrays do not send your Salvage Corvettes straight at them. Instead distract them with your Frigates or Fighters then have your Salvage Corvettes sneak and take them by surprise.
Once the Ion Cannon Fleet has been destroyed the enemy Carrier comes at you to try and destroy you once and for all. It has two Ion Cannon Arrays as guard ships but they are easily dealt with. Have your Fighters attack the Ion Cannon Arrays and your Corvettes and your Frigates the Carrier. Remember to use your Repair Corvettes.
While your Fighters are busy with the Ion Cannon Arrays sneak your Salvage Corvettes behind the Ion Cannon Arrays and capture them. Do this for the second as well. Once you have taken away the Ion Cannon Arrays have everyone focus on the Carrier.
Continue the attack on the Carrier until it decides that it has had enough and Hyperjumps out of the area. Before leaving for the next mission repair and refuel your fleet and harvest all remaining resources. When that is done Hyperjump to the next mission.

Like the last mission don't rush, take your time and organize yourself and start harvesting resources early because you will want a large attack fleet when you finally go after the enemy.
INVESTIGATE ASTEROID BELT
Refrain from doing this early on. Try not to get too close to the where you are meant to investigate. Instead continue harvesting and raising your fleet as per normal. Research Plasma Bomb technology (this will become available to you after a little while). Save your game often incase you trigger the enemy by accident. When harvesting send your Collectors along the two long arms of the nebula gas. Make sure they don't get too far into the arm before you call them back.
You will want to get your fleet up to at least 20 fighters, 15 Attack Bombers and at least three Ion Cannon Frigates as well as the Corvettes and Assault Frigates. Once your fleet is ready trigger the enemy attack.
ERADICATE ALL ENEMY SHIPS
Once you have their attention recall your Resource Collectors and Controller back to the safety of your Mothership. Keep your Capital ships out of formation and have them loosely strung across the battlefield. This will make sure that the enemy ships are being hit from all directions making it harder for them to evade any of your attacks.
If you have the opportunity sneak your Salvage Corvettes around the back of the enemies Assault Frigates and capture them. They will make useful additions to your fleet. Have your Fighters go after the enemies Fighters, make sure yours are on Evasive Tactics so that hopefully you will dodge most of the gunfire. Watch out for enemy Defenders.
During the battle Fleet Intelligence will tell you that they have spotted the enemies Resource Collectors. It is vital that you destroy these or the enemy will continue to build Fighters hampering your attack further. Break your Bombers away from the battle and send them after the Resource Collectors or if you fancy send your Salvage Corvettes after them and capture them instead. Just as long as they are no longer under enemy control.
Keep up the heat, have your Bombers go after enemy Capital ships with help from your Capital ships. In the end the enemy will send its Carrier with its Destroyer escort after you. Concentrate on the Destroyers first. Have your entire fleet focus on one Destroyer at a time until it is destroyed then focus on the next one until it too has been destroyed. When its escort is gone engage the Carrier. The Carrier won't take much before it bites the dust.
When all enemy ships have been destroyed you are free to Hyperjump to the next mission. Before leaving, however, continue to harvest the available resources until they are depleted. Organize your fleet, you will need new ships for the next mission so try and build the following; ten Attack Bombers, eight Light/Heavy Corvettes, and eight Capital ships (this includes Ion Cannon Frigates and Assault Frigates). Once this is done Hyperjump away into the next mission.

You are traveling through an Asteroid Belt and asteroids are headed right at you. You must deploy your ships to destroy these pains in the neck before they hit the Mothership. Fleet Intelligence shows you on the Sensor Map that you should destroy all asteroids in the circle. Well that's what you have to do so do it.
Launch everything you have, you have no time to prepare. Quickly split your fleet into two rough groups. Have them go after any asteroids that come close to the Mothership. Try and keep your bigger ships away from the asteroids because they will get destroyed. A fair bit of Micromanagement is needed for this mission but it is a fairly easy mission to deal with, with no enemies the asteroids are easily destroyed.
Have your Repair Corvettes guard the Mothership, it doesn't matter if you finish the mission with your Mothership on one percent health just as long as you finish it in one piece. Keep on your toes and pause the game to see where possible "bogies" are headed and so forth. Just keep 'em away from the Mothership and you will be fine.
When you have cleared the Asteroid Belt the Bentusi will arrive to offer you a trade for Drone technology. If you have the RUs take their offer it will save you researching it later on. When the Bentusi leave you are free to Hyperjump to the next mission.

HARVEST NEBULA
PROTECT RESOURCERS
WALKTHROUGH
As soon as you harvest a singe dust cloud you trigger the main part of this mission. Don't rush into harvesting, instead get your fleet prepared. Assign your presets and build whatever ships you need if you already have some left over RUs.
HARVEST NEBULA
When you are ready send your Resource Collectors out to start harvesting. As soon as one of them starts harvesting the missions main even takes place. You will need to assign some ships to protect your Collectors but how many is up to you and the size of your fleet.
When the enemy appear you send your ambassador out to have a little chat with them. Things go wrong, blah, blah, blah, they don't want you harvesting nebula, blah, blah, you agree, blah, blah they won't let you leave and they attack. Simple as that. The ships that the enemy use are called Swarmers. They attack in large groups and can do a lot of damage. But they have a big weakness. They have a very, very small fuel capacity and rely on Fuel Pods to refuel themselves. Make the Fuel Pods your main targets. Attack any Fuel Pods that you see and when the Swarmers run out of fuel they simple float in space causing harm to no-one, oh and they are just waiting for you to destroy them!
The enemy Mothership will continue to produce Fuel Pods and Swarmers. Destroying the Fuel pods is the easiest way to stop the enemy harming you. Constantly pause the game so you can find the newest Fuel Pod and have your Capital ships go after them. Make sure that your Resource Collectors survive as you will need the RUs to reinforce your fleet. The Swarmers will eventually all start going after your Resource Collectors. You MUST protect them! It is vital for the mission to be won but I warn you now that it is a big pain in the bum with no Resource Collectors for the next mission.
The enemy Mothership will try its best to ram your Capital ships whenever it has the chance. Keep you distance so that this doesn't happen. Destroy any Fuel Pods that the Mothership makes but don't go after her at the moment its time will come.
Once your Hyperspace-Jump Engines have been recharged you will need to drive off the enemy Mothership as it is creating a field that prevents you from making the jump. Have everyone attack the Mothership and keep the heat up until it eventually Hyper-Jumps away.
Have everyone try and attack the Mothership from behind or from the sides. Remember to keep Capital ships clear of its ramming. When the Mothership Jumps you should also jump out immediately. Prepare yourself for the next mission as it starts hot and fast.
If
you desperately need resources you can continue to harvest the map when the
enemy Mothership escapes. But you may find that it may return and you may also
finds little patches of Swarmers and Fuel Pods strewn throughout the map. Staying
behind is risky and it is your decision.
OBJECTIVES
DESTROY HYPERSPACE INHIBITORS
WALKTHROUGH
This missions starts off with the enemy attacking you immediately. The enemy from the last mission is back and they are not happy at all! You need to have your groups ready and available at the press of a button. Expect a lot of pausing as you are going to need to target specific ships in order to win this one.
DESTROY HYPERSPACE INHIBITORS
Three Hyperspace Inhibitors block your escape from the nebula. The bad guys are not happy and want your blood. The Inhibitors are three enemy Motherships. You must destroy all three in order to finish the mission.
While you are fighting you will want to try and build as many ships as you can. depending on your resources this can be Fighters or Capital Ships. If you are low on Fighters then build Fighters and vice versa.
Like the last mission you must also go up against the many waves of Swarmers and like last time they have their one and only weakness. As the enemy attacks you pause the game and target the Fuel Pods. Unpause the game and send your ships after all Fuel Pods. Keep this up until the enemy finally start decreasing the intensity of their attack. It is now that you should go after the first Inhibitor.
The Inhibitors are in a triangular formation around your Mothership. You will need a to of Fighters and some Capital Ships to pull this off. If you only have two Destroyers strongly consider building another. If you have less than at least 20 Fighters I urge you to build more. When you have your little strike force ready head out towards the first Inhibitor which is above you (the one that is the tip of the triangle).
Once there destroy all Fuel Pods around the enemy Mothership and then destroy any more it makes. You will also notice an enemy Frigate here. This is the Multi-beam Frigate. Looks a bit like a Repair Corvette but it is extremely deadly. If you see one of these have your fleet swarm it and destroy it, or if you can send some Salvage Corvettes in to sneak up on it and capture it. A multi-Beam Frigate would make a good addition to your fleet.
With its defenders gone have everyone go after the Mothership. Remember to move any Capital Ships that are in the way of the Motherships ramming efforts. With no defenders the enemy Mothership falls easily to your fleet. Now head back to your Mothership and repair and refuel readying yourself for the next Mothership. Eliminate any opposition you face on the way.
Now send your entire fleet against the next Mothership (it doesn't matter which one). Have your Fighters guard your Capital Ships or they will be overrun with Swarmers. Remember to keep knocking out the Fuel Pods to stop the annoying Swarmers. Once at the enemy Mothership do the same to this one as what you did to the last one. Have your Capital Ships pound the Mothership while keeping their distance and have your Fighters clear out any defenders before they themselves join in on the fun. Also watch your self for any Multi-Beam Frigates that sneak up on you.
The enemy Mothership will soon fall, not so tough now are they! With that one gone that leaves one left. Have your fleet go back to the Mothership for refueling and repairs.
You will now get a report from Fleet Intelligence. The third ship has retreated to a distant position. They have also picked up a friendly signal but it isn't ours... You can now start harvesting the nebula, start immediately to increase ship production.
Once your fleet is ready send them towards the last Mothership. Also take any Salvage Corvettes you have, try and have four if you can but more the merrier. Along the way you will be attacked by some Swarmers, remember to knock out the Fuel Pod, and four Multi-Beam Frigates. Do you best at capturing the Frigates and destroy the rest.
Watch the cutscene about your race and the enemy race. Now advance on the enemy's last Mothership. Use the same tactics as before. Clear out defenders then go whole hog at it. Remember to keep clear of the ramming and you should do fine. When this Mothership falls you are free to Hyperspace-Jump to the next mission.
Before leaving however take your time to harvest the entire nebula and build up your fleet if you suffered heavy loses. If not then that can wait until the next mission as it starts off calm.

SALVAGE THE UNKNOWN VESSEL

Fleet Intelligence are a little frightened about the "Ghost Ship" which they detected. Of course you are ordered to go take a look. No need for rushing, you can take as much time as you want before you head out to the anomaly. Get your fleet ready and beef them up if you need to. Capital Ships (Destroyers and Ion Cannon Frigates and Assault Frigates are always a welcome addition to the fleet) always come in handy as do Fighters, but Fighters are cheaper and quickly built Capital Ships are not. When you are ready prepare for your first objective.
*Note: I like to call this mission a pick-me-up mission. It can fill some gaps in your fleet if you follow this guide.*
INVESTIGATE ANOMALY
Build a probe and send it to the anomaly. Try not to send it straight at the anomaly instead have it stop a little way away from the anomaly so that you can get a reading. If it is destroyed build another and try again. Remember to keep your harvesting up.
DESTROY ALIEN VESSEL
You now have to destroy the Ghost Ship. It has started up all the enemy ships around it. These are the ships it has captured over the years. The Ghost Ship has Gravity Well Technology. This means it traps all Capital Ships and turns control over to it. To attack this monster you will need around 40 Fighters (Use some that are already a part of your fleet and you will probably need to build some more) and around 15 Salvage Corvettes. Have your Fighters go after everything but the Ghost Ship.
Now follow the Fighters up with your team of Salvage Corvettes. Send four or five to go after the Missile Frigate. Then split the rest of and have them go after whatever is left. Try and grab the Missile Frigate, Multi-Beam Frigate and the Ion Cannon Array. Whatever else is a bonus. Keep in mind that the Missile Frigate can keep firing after it has been taken hold of by the Salvage Corvettes. This is why you must assign more to it. The Missile Destroyer comes in extremely useful for the next missions as you cannot build them yet and come as a great advantage over your enemies. So concentrate on stealing this.
When your Salvage Corvettes are all occupied and you think you can't capture any more ships destroy the rest.
SALVAGE THE UNKNOWN VESSEL
Once the Ghost Ship's defense is gone start attacking it. Keep at it until Fleet Intelligence informs you that you can now salvage the Ghost Ship. Salvage the ship and learn its secret.
The Bentusi will now arrived ever so happy that you disabled the Ghost Ship. It has been a constant annoyance to them and now they are free of its annoyance. Of course they offer you a trade, a good deal in fact, accept it. Before Hyperspace-jumping research Gravity Well technology. The next mission starts off calm so there is no need organizing you fleet just yet. When you are done Jump to the next mission.

DESTROY ALL OF THE DEFENSE FORCE

This is one of the longest mission Homeworld has to offer so don't bother rushing in and trying to finish the mission in the first 15 minutes. You have plenty of time to get your fleet organized and replenished. The biggest problem you will face is gathering resources and the enemy fleet guarding the Research Station.
As you would have heard from Fleet Intelligence the Station is right next to a supernova. The supernova is emitting vast amounts of radiation and it does harm your units. Small ships fall quickly while in radiated areas but bigger ships hold out longer, but it is advised that no ships should enter radiated areas if not needed to. The only area that is safe are the dust cloud trails. These seem to be immune to the radiation effects. Stick to these paths all the time barring only one exception and that is when collecting resources.
DESTROY RESEARCH STATION
Your primary objective. You must destroy this Research Station at all costs. You are going to need quite a large strike force to take it out. I suggest having the full compliment of five Destroyers, a Missile Frigate (If you captured it), two or three Ion Frigates, a Multi-Beam Frigate (if you captured it) and an Ion Array. That is just your heavy weapons group! You will then need around 15-20 Interceptors, Bombers and Defenders each.
This means you are going to have to go resource collecting. Don't set your Resource Collectors off on their own as they will die in the radiation. You need two Repair Corvettes, build them if you have to. Now send your Resource Collectors and the Resource Controller to the nearest resource pocket. Have the two Repair Corvettes tag along behind them repairing them as they go. Keep an eye on the Repair Corvettes as they will need to stop halfway so they can repair themselves.
When you start getting in the money start building the required vessels. Build Fighters first so they can be put out of the way. The Capital ships come next. While you are doing this take some of your Fighters and your Capital ships along the dust vein running towards the Research Station. This path is Mined so you have to clear them out first. Your first enemy contact will be some Fighters, have your Fighter group clear them out. Now take on Destroyer and as many Repair ships that you can spare. Send the Destroyer slowly into Mines. The Mines will go after the Destroyer but since you are constantly repairing it they will never destroy it. Clear this first Minefield and then destroy the Minelayer Corvette here.
Repair the Destroyer and advance to the next Mine Field. Clear this one as you did the last one. Also destroy any Minelayer Corvettes here. Keep moving through the Mine Fields and clearing them until you come to the last one. You can easily tell the last one by looking at the Sensor Map or you will see three enemy capital chips here. Don't provoke them just yet. The enemy has a couple of Destroyers and a Heavy Cruiser here. Don't have them come after you just yet. To destroy these ships with out losing a ship is easy enough as long as you time it right.
Bring up all of your Capital ships and all of your Fighters and Corvettes. Have the Destroyer clear the Minefield whilst your Fighters and Corvettes go after the Heavy Cruiser. Target the closest enemy Capital ship. When the Minefield is down have everyone concentrate on one ship. When it is dead go after the next one and so forth until the three of them have been destroyed. You now have access to the Research Station. You still need to take out its main defense though.
Have all your ships head towards the Research Station. You will see a cutscene where an enemy carrier is trying to hyperspace-jump out of there. Fleet Intelligence will tell you not to let the Carrier get away as it could warn the rest of the enemy fleet. After the cutscene have everyone go after the Carrier. It won't take long before it is ripped to shreds. Once it is destroyed target any remaining enemy ships and destroy them. Use the "Focused Fire" technique to destroy them all quickly.
*The "Focused Fire" technique is where you have all your ships focus on one ship to destroy it faster.*
With the defense force gone you are free to destroy the Station. Have everyone have a go at the Station and when it is destroyed you are free to Hyperspace-jump to the next mission. However if you want to and are willing to spend the time you can harvest all the resources on the map. But you will need to take care of the Resource Collectors when traveling through radiated space.

DESTROY THE TAIIDAN FLEET
WALKTHROUGH
You come out of Hyperspace to find that a Bentusi ship is under attack. You must help your allies. A large Taiidan fleet is attacking the vessel so you must put everything you have into saving your allies.
DESTROY THE TAIIDAN FLEET
You will watch the cutscene of your allies the Bentusi being attacked by a fleet of Taiidan ships, including a Heavy Cruiser, three Destroyers and several Ion Frigates. These all must be neutralized before the Bentusi ship is destroyed. Send everything you have to aid the Bentusi ship. Once there target the nearest thing to your ships and use the "Focused Fire" technique.
Set your ships to Evasive Tactics so that your ships will be safer when they come under enemy fire. Also if you have any Salvage Corvettes handy call them in and start capturing enemy Capital ships. Pick ships which are distracted by the battle and sneak up on them. You may even want to go after the Heavy Cruiser.
After the first ship has been destroyed move onto the next ship, make the next ship either the one closest or one that is still attacking the Bentusi ship. By now you should have their attention but one or two ships may need further convincing that you are a bigger threat than the Bentusi.
Plow your way through the enemy ships, it won't take you long and casualties should be few on your side as long as you stick with the "Focused Fire" technique. With all of your ships attack one target it doesn't take long for it to be destroyed. Even the enemy Heavy Cruiser will fall quickly.
Once all Taiidan ships have been captured or destroyed another cutscene shall play. The Bentusi will thank you and then tell you what really happened to your people.
You are now able to Hyperspace-Jump out to the next mission. Before leaving however harvest the little resources found on this mission. Build up what you can e.g. Fighters if you need them, Capital Ships if you need them. You will need at least 10-12 Capital Ships and at least 10-12 of every Fighter as well as any Corvettes that you can spare.
Also before leaving use the Launch menu to keep all of your Fighters and Corvettes docked for the next mission. The next mission starts of immediately so be prepared as you will only have a few seconds to get your bearings.

This mission starts off immediately as Taiidan forces have pulled you out of Hyperspace. When you return to normal space you find that there are several Gravity Well Generators near your Mothership. If you leave your Fighters and Corvettes docked they will be safe from this effect. If not they will all be paralyzed and the enemy will start attacking them right away. So it is imperative that you keep them docked as you were told to in the last mission.
DESTROY SOURCE OF GRAVITY FIELD
As soon as you gain control of your ships have all of your Capital Ships go after the Missile Destroyer. With all your concentrated fire the Missile Destroyer shall soon fall. After the Missile Destroyer has been destroyed go after the Taiidan Assault Frigates using the "Focused Fire" technique. After the Assault Frigates have been destroyed move onto the Support Frigates and destroy them like the rest. If the Support Frigates decide to turn tail and run, let them as they will only lead right into the heart of the Taiidan Capital ship fleet. Now all that remains are the three Gravity Well Generators. They are set up in a triangular formation around the Mothership. Destroy them and you can now settle down to prepare yourself. But don't get too relaxed as you need to rejoin the fray as soon as possible.
Reorganize your fleet, repair and refuel as needed. Bring up the Sensor Menu. You will see several red dots strewn around the map. These are enemy Carrier groups. These need to be destroyed. One is not too far from the Mothership and is in a group of resources Once you have finished organizing your fleet it is time to go after the first Carrier group.
Head out with everything you have to the first Carrier group. Use "Focused Fire" to bring down the enemy ships so much quicker. Go after the Gravity Well Generators first and then move onto the Missile Destroyer. Mop up anything that is left over. While you are in battle Fleet Intelligence will inform that Guided Missile technology is available to research. Get on it right away and when it is completed you will be able to construct Missile Destroyers.
When you have destroyed this Carrier group head home for refueling and repairs. Hurry up as the next Carrier group is on their way to meet you, personally.
PROTECT THE FLEET
You know have to protect the fleet that is coming at you to destroy you. The first part of the enemy Carrier group to reach you is the Fighters and Corvettes. Don't waste any time, target them all with everything you have. Their pitiful bunch of Fighters and Corvettes are no match for your fleet. Your loses should be minimal and can be greatly reduced if you set your fleets Tactics to Evasive.
The Taiidan Carrier arrives shortly afterward. The Carrier is escorted by enemy Ion Frigates but you will probably not be able to see them, the Taiidan fleet has a deployed a Cloaking Generator that hides all enemy Frigates when they are not firing. This could be a real problem. When you see a Frigate pop out of now where and start attacking your ships pause the game. Select your fleet and focus on the enemy Frigate. When it pops into view have everyone attack it. Keep in mind you will need to continue issuing attack orders every time the Frigate uncloaks. Do this with all Ion Frigates you see. When they have been destroyed it is safe to move onto the Carrier and its Capital ship guard.
Move in quickly and focus on one ship at a time. Start off with any Destroyers or Missile Destroyers the Taiidan have. Have your Fighters and Corvettes go after any remaining enemy Fighters or Corvettes and when they have finished them off have them too attack the enemy Carrier and its Capital Ship guard. With all of your fleet focusing on one ship at a time it isn't long before you have plowed through the enemy Capital ships and are onto destroying the Carrier. Don't hold back, go at it like a bull. When it has been destroyed locate the Cloak Generator and destroy it. You can now head back to your Mothership for repairs, refueling and reorganizing your fleet.
With this Carrier group gone have your Resource Collectors start harvesting. If you want you can build a couple of probes and send them to the red blips on the radar but I will save you the trouble. Another two Carrier groups and some groups of Multi-Gun Corvettes are all that you will find. Those Multi-Gun Corvettes usually stay where they are but sometimes they may branch off and come to harass you. They are easily wiped out as long as you use every Fighter under your command.
Repair and refuel your Fighters and repair your Capital ships with a Support Frigate or a Repair Corvette. Get ready to move out to another Carrier group. You must act quick when taking out the Carrier groups or you may find that they start coming after you. Try and take down the several groups of Multi-Gun Corvettes while you are at it.
When you are moving towards the next Carrier group don't let your fleet stray, keep everyone in close. When you reach the Carrier group you may spot a Resource Controller and some Resource Collectors within the group. If not then they are part of the other Carrier group. Try and destroy them as soon as possible. Doing this will stop them producing Fighters which can be hazardous to your health.
Go after the remaining Carrier groups in the same way as you did the first couple. Fighters first then bigger ships that pose immediate threats all the time while using the "Focused Fire" technique. This is the easiest way of bringing the buggers down! Do this for the remaining Carrier groups and you should only receive minimal loses.
PROTECT THE DEFECTOR
As you finish moping up the last Carrier group you will receive a cutscene of a Taiidan Destroyer sending you a message asking for assistance as they wish to defect. You must now rush to help them before their pursuers destroy them.
When the cutscene ends take everyone you have and send them to the source of the transmission, it is shown on the Sensor Map. Once there target the Destroyers and Ion Frigates attacking the defecting captain's ship. Target Destroyers first then move onto the Ion Frigates. After you start firing on the enemy they usually turn to attack you so defending the defecting ship is quite easy. Use your Fighters and Corvettes to eliminate the enemies Fighters and Corvettes while your Capital ships clean up the enemy Capital ship. Once they are gone target any remaining enemy ships.
When the defectors ship has reached the safety of your Mothership he will be transported aboard the Mothership for questioning. You will then see a cutscene saying that he is safely aboard and that you can Hyperspace-Jump to the next mission. If you wish you can stay behind and harvest all the available resources but you will need to keep an eye out for any stray Taiidan ships. The next mission starts easy so no need to muck about with your fleet at the moment.
OBJECTIVES
DOCK STRIKE CRAFT WITH COMMUNICATION RELAY
WALKTHROUGH
This mission is extremely easy as long as you about it the right way. You encounter a new enemy in this mission, the Junkyard Dog. The Junkyard Dog is a beefed up version of the Salvage Corvette. Practically indestructible and able to carry Capital ships away by itself. You must avoid these at all costs. Unfortunately they populate the Karos Graveyard so you must find another way around them.
DOCK STRIKE CRAFT WITH COMMUNICATION RELAY
You only need to get one Fighter to dock with the Relay to finish the mission, however getting there can be a pain in the bum if you do it the wrong way. First off however you are going to need about 10 Interceptors or Scouts, build or take them from your fleet and get ready to go.
If you enter the Graveyard and alert the Junkyard Dogs they will start going after your Capital ships. What they do is grab them and take them through a Hyperspace Portal which then takes them to a place far away in the mission. Your captured Capital ship is not actually destroyed you can get it back, you need to re-salvage it but first you need to find it. This is what makes this mission so tedious if you go about it the wrong way. Don't worry this guide will show the right way to get past it. Also don't start harvesting the resources here or your Collectors and your Controller will more than likely be stolen, so just ignore the resources in this mission.
The other problem with this mission is that Auto Guns are spread through out the mission area. These guns will quickly rip whatever you send at them. You need to stay out of their range if you wish to survive and that is exactly what you are going to do. When your Scouts or Interceptors are ready have them fly straight up for at least 20 Kilometers.
Once they are there put them into X Formation and start moving towards the Relay. Keep going until they are right above it. Select one fighter from this group and assign it to a group by itself. This is the ship that will dock with the Relay. Move the group of Fighters down to the Relay. Once you can see it (if you are not sure which one it is pause the game and move your cursor over the ships and you will soon find it). Select your solo ship and have it dock with the Relay. Have the rest of the Fighters start attacking the Auto Guns around the Relay to distract them from your Fighter which is docking. It is best if you save before venturing down to the Relay as it could take a few goes to get it right.
When you have docked with the Relay you will watch another cutscene and when it has finished you will be given the all clear to proceed to the next mission. Hit the Hyperspace-Jump as soon as you are able to.

Okay I suppose I had better warn you, this is one of the longest missions you will face. By long I mean really long not like any other mission in Homeworld which you thought was long this is LONG! The other thing is that it is not terribly difficult. You must destroy the Field Generator to proceed to the next mission. However the Field Generator is protected by about 100 Ion Cannon Frigates (No, I am not joking!) in Sphere Formation around the Generator. The good news is that they all have "Steal Me!" written all over them. You will need to be stealing them as well if you want to survive the next two and final two missions.
DESTROY FIELD GENERATOR
Not long after starting the mission Fleet Intelligence will display the location of the Field Generator on the Sensor Map. You will also notice the huge sphere of red dots guarding the Generator. Most of these are Ion Cannon Frigates. These will need to be "removed" before you can take a shot at the Generator. It is not as hard as it seems as every single one of these Ion Cannon Frigates has "Steal Me!" written all over it like I said before. You will be told early on that you can also research Sensor Array technology. Start research on it immediately.
Get your Resource Collectors harvesting but you will need to keep an eye on it. Once they have harvested all the resources near the Mothership they will head towards the sphere to harvest there. If you let them go there they have a one way ticket to Resource Collector heaven. Don't let them get near the sphere. Once it has collected all the resources around the Mothership call them back to the Mothership.
This mission can be finished in a number of ways but you will want to do a few simple tasks first. If you are playing as the Kushan you should consider building around 15-20 Cloaked Fighters, cloak them and then send them into the sphere. Move them to the Field Generator and have them destroy the two enemy Resource Collectors and the Controllers. Unfortunately if you are playing as the Taiidan you will not be able to do this so don't worry about them until later on in the mission.
The next and most important task, if you want to survive the next two missions, is to capture at least 30 Ion Cannon Frigates if not more. If you wanted to and wanted to spend a lot of time you could capture up to 60-80 Ion Cannon Frigates. The best way of capturing is to have a group of 10-15 Interceptors or Scouts and then move them towards the target ship for capturing. Then follow them up with your Capital ships (in case you run into trouble) and then after that your Salvage Corvettes. You are going to need around 10 Salvage Corvettes. Have your Fighters attack the target to distract it and then have two Salvage Corvettes capture. Repeat this process to capture as many Ion Cannon Frigates as you like but bear in mind you need at least 30.
Begin moving to the outer part of the sphere that lies directly in front of the Mothership. Watch the Sensor screen until you notice that you have attracted the attention of some of the Ion Cannon Frigates. The Ion Cannon Frigates will leave the safety of the sphere. This is the perfect time to start the collection of Ion Cannon Frigates that you will need. Select three or four Fighters and have them attack the incoming Frigates, this will distract them so that you can send in your Salvage Corvettes to steal them without them being harmed. You need to continue this process until you have at least 30. You will need to be patient for this procedure and for those who believe they can bear to do you may want to go further and collect as many as possible, this can tally up to around 60 or 70.
While you are stealing the Ion Cannon Frigates the Taiidan fleet may send some Fighters after you as they are more than slightly miffed by your actions. They may send out bigger ships but that won't usually happen until you get near the Field Generator. They may also use Cloaking technology so be prepare for it. Use Proximity Sensors to counteract them. Also try and steal any Destroyers if you can as they also make nice additions to your fleet. If you can't then have your Capital ships clean them up. Also don't get too close to the sphere or you may be overwhelmed by Ion Cannon Frigates.
There is no rush to destroy the Generator, take your time in stealing the Frigates and then start moving your Capita ships to the Generator. Once there destroy the pitiful defense force and then destroy the Generator. If you want capture the Cloak devices, the Resource Collectors and Controllers and the Carrier if you can. Once you have them it is best if you Retire them to get the extra RUs which you can put to more worthwhile things. Once the Generator has been destroyed you are free to Hyperspace-Jump to the next mission.
DESTROY HYPERSPACE GATES
You will be given this objective shortly after you approach the sphere. The Taiidan have opened three Hyperspace portals in which they can call reinforcements. This objective does not need to be finished in order to continue to the next mission. But I would advise that you at least destroy the one that is in front of the Mothership. The other two rarely do anything to disrupt your progress. Simply take your entire Capital ship fleet to the three Portals and let them loose on the enemy.
The next two and final two missions begin immediately so you have very little time to prepare yourself. This is why you must capture so many Ion Cannon Frigates, the more you have the easier the last missions will be.
Also spend your RUs on Fighters if you need them as they are a handy asset. Secondly if you feel you don't need anymore spend it on extra Capital ships. Work out what is best for your budget. You will also want some Repair Corvettes to keep your Capital ship fleet in working order.
When you are ready Hyperspace-Jump to the next mission.
OBJECTIVES
DESTROY THE OBJECT
WALKTHROUGH
You have been pulled out of Hyperspace. The Taiidan fleet has put a giant asteroid in your path and it is on a direct collision course with your Mothership. It must be destroyed. The asteroid is heavily guarded but only the asteroid must be destroyed not the Taiidan fleet.
DESTROY THE OBJECT
You start the mission with only a few moments to spare. Have your Fighters and Corvettes and your Capital ships move off to the right of the asteroid. Keep them sitting off to the side of the asteroid and out of range of it (So you can't see it). As the asteroid passes your group of ships it is time to move. Send them all towards the asteroid.
As you get closer to the asteroid and it comes into view target it and have all your ships attack it. Don't worry about the Taiidan ships. You should come out to the side of the asteroid or even behind it. This is good because if you attack it head on you will more than likely be rammed by the asteroid and lose many ships.
Make sure all of your Capital ships are firing at the asteroid. With your entire fleet attacking the asteroid it should only take a minute or so before the asteroid is destroyed. Loses should be light as the bulk of the Taiidan Capital ships are at the front of the asteroid and if you came in from the side of behind the asteroid you are a tougher target to hit than if you were coming head on. The Taiidan may even lose a few ships because they were rammed by asteroid. As soon as the asteroid has exploded hit the Hyperspace-Jump button and then immediately hit the Quick Dock button so that you can get out of there.
Now all that remains is the final confrontation at Hiigara. You are home, now you must reclaim it from the evil beasts who took it from you.

ERADICATE ENEMY FORCES
WALKTHROUGH
This is the final battle and don't think it is gonna be a walk in the park because it won't be! It is more like trying to walk across ice in your bare feet! This is a difficult mission but never fear this walkthrough will put you in the clear! You don't have much time to prepare, actually you have a few seconds but that is about it. There is no point collection resources but you will need at least 10 Repair corvettes and as many Fighters and Corvettes as you can build. My advice is to retire your Carrier, your Resource Controller and the Collectors so that you can get the cash and build much more needed ships. Also a Gravity Well Generator comes in handy.
ERADICATE ENEMY FORCES
Okay have every craft out of the Mothership and in formations. Select your Repair Corvette group and beef it up so that it has at least 15 Repair Corvettes and more if you can. If you have to salvage a ship to do it then do it, salvaging a couple of Ion Cannon Frigates would be best. Have the Repair Corvette group guard the Mothership. Soon Fleet Intelligence will tell you that many Taiidan forces are patrolling the area including a Mothership at the edge of the system. Don't bother going any where, they are all coming to you.
You may want to pause your game here, bring up the Sensor screen and locate the group coming up from underneath you. This is a group of Ion Cannon Frigates that have targeted your Mothership and must e dealt with. There is also a Carrier group above you which will launch strike craft and Corvettes. Leave them for now as the Ion Frigates are a bigger threat. If you still have a Gravity Well Generator deploy it above your Mothership.
Turn your attention to the Ion Frigates coming from below. Have your Capital ships (Not the Ion Cannon Frigates) assigned to a group and move them to intercept the Frigates. Now assign your Ion Cannon Frigates to another group and move them towards the enemy Mothership. Don't worry, you are not going to attack the Mothership you are actually going to be intercepting another enemy attack group.
Using the "Focused Fire" technique have your Capital ships attack the Ion Frigates. Continue to push forward with your Ion Frigates and engage the large group they will encounter. Use the "Focused Fire" technique as well. Target enemy Missile Destroyers first then move onto the Destroyers and don't forget the smaller ships. Send your Fighters and Corvettes against the, hopefully, trapped enemy strike craft.
Keep tabs on both of your main attack groups. Make sure they don't stop attacking the Taiidan forces. If you happen to have any Salvage Corvettes left you may want to send them to steal some Taiidan Capital ships, Missile Destroyers and Heavy Cruisers especially.
Clean the remaining Taiidan forces and repair your Mothership to full health then repair your main attack groups. Fleet Intelligence will soon announce that Taiidan reinforcements have entered through hyperspace. This group appears above and behind your Mothership. Move your Repair Corvette group back to guard duty on the Mothership. Send you entire fleet against this Taiidan fleet. Have your Ion Frigates target their Taiidan versions and then have your Capital ships do the same.
The Taiidan attack isn't over yet so don't slack off! After you have destroyed the second attack force another enters from below. Like before send your fleet to intercept them. While you are attacking this force Fleet Intelligence will inform you that another unknown group has entered from above your Mothership. You soon find out that it is in fact the Rebel fleet here to help! You need it too! You are given control of some of the Rebel ships. Assign them to a group and have them get stuck into the third Taiidan attack force. Once you have cleaned up all Taiidan attackers it is your turn to attack.
Leave a couple of ships at the Mothership to protect it in case of any sneak attacks and then send everyone else off towards the enemy Mothership. Try and keep close to the Rebel ships. If you have any spare RUs build Fighters and Corvettes to help protect the Mothership.
Punch through enemy defenses and head straight for the enemy Mothership. You will need to first destroy the last of the Taiidan Capital ships, a group of three Heavy Cruisers guarded by Support Frigates. There are also Fighters and Corvettes that need to be destroyed, have your own Fighters and Corvettes go after them. Destroy this defending force before turning your attention to the Mothership. Once you have destroyed the defenders have every attacking ship target the enemy Mothership. With you and the Rebels both pounding away at the Taiidan Mothership it won't be long before it buckles and explodes. Once it has been destroyed you will have finished the mission and the game. Your journey back to your Homeworld is complete.
CONGRATULATIONS! YOU HAVE SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED THE HOMEWORLD SINGLE PLAYER CAMPAIGN!
